United Bangladesh flight makes emergency landing in Raipur
RAIPUR: A United Bangladesh plane with 173 people on board landed under emergency conditions at the airport in Raipur on Friday evening due to a technical snag, PTI reported.
The plane, on its way to Muscat from Dhaka (Bangladesh), developed an engine problem, forcing it to divert and land at Vivekanand Airport Raipur, an airport official was quoted by the Press Trust of India.
"The emergency landing was safe. The plane landed at 7 pm," the official added.
All the necessary arrangements were made before landing. Fire engines and ambulances were stationed near the runway, he said.
Authorities were in touch with Bangladesh airlines for making alternative arrangement for the passengers to fly to their destinations, he added.
