Punjab cabinet pays homage to slain Khanzada

LAHORE – The Punjab cabinet on Monday paid rich tributes to martyred Home Affairs Minister Shuja Khanzada, who was assassinated in a suicide attack on Sunday.

A special meeting - presided over by provincial Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif - was held here on Monday. The meeting praised services of Shuja Khanzada and offered fateha for the departed soul. It also adopted a resolution, condemning terrorism and expressing solidarity with martyred Khanzada.

Shahbaz vowed to make Pakistan a peaceful country and reiterated that they would not hesitate to sacrifice their lives for its protection. He said he would lead from front the war against terror to eliminate menace of terrorism.

He said that Khanzada's services for the country were great and he would be remembered forever. He said that the war against terrorism would continue till elimination of the last terrorist.

He said that the Punjab cabinet would recommend the federal government to announce the highest civilian award for the late Shuja Khanzada. The cabinet decided to continue to take every measure for tackling the issue of terrorism in light of the National Action Plan.
