NewsInvestigation team to probe Godil attack formed, initial report prepared
KARACHI: Spokesman for Karachi police has said that the investigation team formed to probe the attack on MQM leader Abdul Rashid Godil is being led by DIG East and includes SSP East, SSP Investigation Unit as well as SSP Special Investigation Unit.
Regarding the incident, the spokesman elaborated that Godil had left his house along with his wife and driver, adding that he was attacked on street no.3 of Bahadurabad by gunmen on two motorcycles on his return home from a grocery store.
He further said that Godil was shot twice in the neck and thrice in his chest by the attackers who used 9MM pistols.
The initial report prepared by the police also said that the attackers first knocked on the windows of Godil’s car and then fired eight shots.
The CCTV footage of the incident has been obtained by the police.
The initial report findings have been sent to the IG Sindh and Chief Minister Sindh.
