ARY Group takes over management of Bol TV
CEO announces to launch biggest news network in three weeks
ISLAMABAD – ARY Network Chief Executive Officer Salman Iqbal on Tuesday announced to take over the Bol News television channel, announcing the launching date of the new media network.
Addressing a ceremony held in the Bol News auditorium, the ARY News owner said that Pakistan’s largest news network would be launched within three weeks. About workers of the Bol Network, he paid tribute and confirmed to clear dues of all employees.
Earlier, Abdur Razzaq Yaqoob (ARY) Group took over the management of the BOL TV on Tuesday. Iqbal along with ARY Group Chairman Haji Muhammad Iqbal visited head office of the Bol TV in Karachi.
TV anchor Wasim Babdami tweeted that the ARY Group has taken over the management of the Bol TV – the official announcement will be announced soon. Bol TV Chief Executive Officer Shoaib Sheikh will also address its employees from jail.
– Career security to workers, media industry –
Salman Iqbal said that the decision was taken to provide career security to media industry and its workers. Iqbal paid tribute to the workers for tirelessly working for three months. “We have to launch Bol TV in three weeks and promises made to the owners will be honoured,” he told staffers at a ceremony.
“It was a first revolution when announcement of Bol’s arrival was made. Today, it’s the second revolution and the biggest one indeed,” he said. “I have created Pakistan’s largest TV channel – so I thought why not take that dream to Bol,” he said. “We have only one agenda –that is Pakistan,” he said.
I wish ARY and team Bol all the best in their commitment to launch Bol,” said Kamran Khan, another TV anchor who was part of initial team of the network. “Great Salman Iqbal committing to clear dues and maintain facilities,” he tweeted.
On June 2, 2015, Salman Iqbal vowed support to journalists associated with the Bol TV when it was under crisis in the wake of fake degree scam of its parent company Axact. He had said that the ARY Network has always given top priority to the interest of media men and it would continue to fully support journalists.
