Analysts call for dialogue between Pak, India to resolve issues
ISLAMABAD: Senior analysts have stressed for dialogue process between Pakistan and India to resolve outstanding issues including Kashmir.
They also termed Indian advice to Pakistan to cancel meeting with Hurriyat leaders as a tactic to blackmail Pakistan.
Talking to Geo News, former diplomat Masood Khan said if Pakistani leadership does not meet the Hurriyat leaders it would be tantamount to withdrawing its stance on Kashmir issue.
He said Pakistani leadership used to hold meetings with Kashmiri leadership in the past, adding that the purpose of such meetings is to show Pakistan stands with the stance of Kashmiri leadership.
Speaking on the issue, senior analyst Hamid Mir said attitude of Indian Foreign Office was an effort to blackmail Pakistan, adding India had cancelled talks with Pakistan last year on the basis of same issue.
He said Pakistan’s civil-military leadership is on the same page and it is agreed that no comprise will be made on the meeting of Sartaj Aziz with Hurriyat leaders.
