ISLAMABAD – National Security and Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz is ready with his files and baggage to depart to India where he has a sure plan to meet Kashmiri leadership including Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Dr Umer Farooq.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid during his interview with a private TV channel on Saturday. He said that Sartaj Aziz would also be meeting with Hurriyat leaders besides participating in the adviser-level talks.
He said that if India has a right to impose its stance on ‘talks on terrorism only,’ then Pakistan has a right to insist on its position too. Commenting on the statement of India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, he said that Pakistan desires to discuss topics during the adviser-level talks which it deems important.
“There has been no change in Pakistan’s position, it is India who has changed its position,” he said. He said that the talks would definitely commence if India remains committed to its original stance. He said that whenever the talks take place, they would cover all issues, including jammu Kashmir.
In Ufa, when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi met, it was agreed upon that the talks would cover all matters. The information minister also said that so far India’s invitation was still open and Sartaj was ready to go to New Delhi unless India takes back its invitation at the last moment in which case it will be held accountable.
