Rashid Godil out of danger: Hospital spokesman
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rashid Godil’s health is improving and he is out of danger, hospital spokesman Anjum Rizvi said on Monday.
Mr Rizvi told reporters there was a detailed medical examination conducted of the MQM leader this morning and a decision to shift him from the ICU to the ward will be taken tomorrow.
On Sunday, Rashid Godil who is under treatment at a local hospital after suffering multiple bullet wounds in an armed attack regained consciousness.
Rashid Godil has recorded his initial statement to the police officials who had visited him today, according to Geo News correspondent Afzal Nadeem Dogar.
He told the police that neither could he see the assailants nor did he know how many of them attacked him.
Godil also asked the police officials about the progress of their ongoing investigation into the attack in which his driver lost his life.
Four attackers on motorcycles had opened fire on the car of Rashid Godil last Tuesday, critically wounding him and killing his driver.
The MQM leader was shot five times in the jaw, chin and chest, doctors said.
