PM constitutes five-member cabinet body on Urdu

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday constituted a five-member cabinet committee to oversee implementation of Supreme Court's directions regarding use of Urdu language for official business in government and semi government departments.
The committee constituted during the cabinet meeting. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid will be the chairman of the committee. Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf; Minister for Housing Akram Khan Durrani; Special Assistant on National Affairs Irfan Siddiqui and Special Assistant for Cabinet Affairs Barrister Zafarullah will be members of the committee.
The committee will propose concrete steps besides taking necessary measures for promotion of Urdu in the official communication.
