Shahbaz leaves for China visit, says relations touching new heights
Punjab CM met boxer Amir, asks for his help for boosting boxing game

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday said that Pakistan-China relations were touching new heights and economic cooperation between the two would benefit the entire region.

He expressed these views while talking to the journalists before leaving for a visit to China. He said that China has helped Pakistan in every tough situation. He added that the joint projects between the two sides are beneficial for the entire region.

The chief minister will meet the Chinese authorities to discuss projects set in Punjab under China-Pakistan economic Corridor (CPEC). Shahbaz will also hold key meetings to strengthen cooperation in energy, infrastructure and transports sectors.

Earlier, Shahbaz met renowned boxer Amir Khan in Lahore and asked for his help for boosting boxing game in Pakistan. During the meeting, the chief minister stated that Pakistanis were talented but the need was to provide them facilities.

He said that boxer Amir has made the nation proud. On this occasion, Amir Khan said that the chief minister has taken positive steps for promoting boxing in Pakistan.
