Army chief approves more military courts to handle terror cases
General Sharif directs security agencies to ensure terror-free Karachi

KARACHI – Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has approved increase in number of military courts in Karachi to handle outstanding terror cases, according to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Chairing a security meeting here on Tuesday, the army chief lauded efforts of the rangers, intelligence agencies and the police for carrying out operation against criminals and militant outfits effectively. General Sharif was briefed on latest security situation in the Sindh capital.

He also commended support of citizens and directed across-the-board operation against all nefarious elements. The army chief directed the law enforcement agencies to break nexus between terrorists and criminal organisations to ensure a peaceful and terror-free Karachi.

– Training equipment to Karachi police –

On the occasion, the army personnel handed over training equipment worth Rs 65 million to the Karachi police for their capacity building. ISPR Director General Major General Asim Bajwa, Sindh Rangers Director General Major General Bilal Akbar among others attended the meeting.
