Gen Austin praises Pakistan's sacrifices in war on terror
Top US general says Pakistan fighting for peace, stability in region
INPRAWALPINDI – US Central Command chief General Lloyd Austin on Wednesday met with Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, as he visited the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and regional security. General Austin praised Pakistan Army’s sacrifices in the ongoing war on terror and said that Pakistan was fighting for the peace and stability in the region. He also paid homage to the martyrs and laid floral wreath.
General Austin also called on Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Rashad Mahmood. During the meeting, both the dignitaries discussed matters related to mutual interest. General Austin acknowledged the role played by the Pakistan’s armed forces in fighting the menace of terrorism.
