UNHCR says Pakistan holds largest number of refugees
by inpGENEVA: The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has declared Pakistan as largest host of refugees as it continued to host the largest number of refugees in the world. According to UNHCR report, Pakistan hosts the largest number of refugees in the world and nearly all the 1.45 million refugees in the country are from Afghanistan. Pakistan had generously hosted the world's largest refugee population for three decades, and it was essential to mobilise more support from the international community, the report added.
