Nawaz being provided necessary facilities in jail, says home minister

LAHORE: Punjab Caretaker Home Minister Shaukat Javed on Saturday said that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s health is satisfactory and he is being provided with all necessary facilities in Adiala Jail.

“Nawaz’s health is good, and he is being facilitated in the jail with television, books, air-conditioner and a mist fan,” Shaukat Javed said.

He added that Nawaz’s daughter Maryam and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar are allowed to meet each other once a week, while ex-PM can meet friends and family members on Thursdays.

Earlier this month, ex-PM Nawaz was shifted to hospital after his health deteriorated, while he was taken back to Adiala after necessary treatment was provided and his health improved.
