Saudis congratulate Imran on his victory
Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman on Sunday reached out to prime minister-in-waiting Imran Khan and expressed their hope to see a prosperous Pakistan during the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government’s reign.
Both leaders congratulated Imran on his election win and conveyed well wishes for the former cricketer in their felicitation messages, a private TV channel reported. The Saudi monarchs prayed for the wellbeing of the PTI chief and sent the country’s felicitations on the party’s election victory on July 25.
Since the victory of Imran-led PTI in the July 25 elections, world leaders have been reaching out to him to felicitate him on his party’s victory and looking to work together with his government.
Saudi ambassador in Islamabad was the first envoy to call on Imran Khan after the polls. During the meeting, the envoy had praised the PTI chief’s victory speech in which he had offered to mediate between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
