State Bank of Pakistan denies reports of change in currency notes
SBP officials clarified that the designs and images of currency notes, which have been circulating on social media, were fakeKARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) denied on Saturday the reports any change in currency notes.
SBP officials stated that there were no plans to change the banknotes in the country.

Previously, reports were surfaced on social media suggesting that the newly appointed Finance Minister Asad Umar had decided to discontinue Rs 5000 banknote.

According to the reports, the new government was intended to change banknotes worth Rs 50 to Rs 1000. Images of banknotes had also been circulating on social media as well.
