PM says conspiracies have been hatched against the government

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said conspiracies had been hatched against the government but it could not be destabilised through democratic means, Geo News reported.

Gilani while speaking to reporters said the parliamentary system in the country was strong which is proved by the fact that historically governments had fallen after just one conspiracy.

"Parliament is not a rubber stamp," the prime minister added.

The prime minister added that democracy had been strengthened through the government and its coalition partners.

Gilani however did not respond when asked about US criticism of Pakistan for not attending the Bonn Conference.
