EU vows to help Pakistan access European market

ISLAMABAD: The EU Ambassador and Head of EU Delegation to Pakistan Lar Gunnar Wigmark assured Pakistan on Thursday that he would play his role to grant access to Pakistani products in EU markets.

Wigmark called on Chairman Senate Foreign Relations Committee Senator Salim Saifullah Khan him and discussed bilateral and regional issues. Khan said more than 40,000 Pakistanis had laid their lives in war against terror and its economy has endured loss of over US $70 billion. The EU ambassador acknowledged Pakistan role in of Pakistan in war against terror and said Pakistan sacrifices in war against terror were unprecedented and Pakistan was playing that war for the sack of world’s peace.

He maintained that strong Pak-Afghan relations were not only in the interest of both countries but also guaranteed peace, security prosperity and development of the region. He assured Khan that he would play his active role to grant access to Pakistani products in EU markets.

“Pakistan is fighting this war for the sack of world peace and urged international community that it should extend its full support to Pakistan for help steps to boast its economy at this critical time,” Khan said.

Khan urged the EU ambassador to play his active role for Pakistani products for its access to European market, as it would help for trickle down affect to economy of Pakistan. He also showed confidence that Pakistan had full capability to come over its financial challenges with the support of international community, instead of aid but by trade.

He showed his grave concerns that Drone Technology was more serious threat to world peace and dangerous as compared to nuclear technology due to which the world was becoming unsafe place.
