One killed in Karachi bomb blast
KARACHI: A low-intensity bomb attack in Karachi on Saturday resulted in the death on one person, Geo News reported.
The remote-controlled roadside bomb exploded close to the site where a Friday bomb attack killed three soldiers from the Pakistan Rangers paramilitary force.
Police said the target of the attack was not immediately clear, but the bomb exploded when a vehicle of Pakistan Rangers was passing near Karachi University.
A spokesman for the Pakistan Rangers said that troops remained unhurt in the incident.
DIG East Akram Naeem said an improvised explosive device (IED) was fixed along the road and the blast was of low intensity. He said that the blast was similar to earlier explosions that occurred at Safura Chowrangi, Lines Area and Kala Pul.
Security forces have cordoned off the area while investigations are underway. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
