Pakistan wants respectable return of Afghan refugees, says Malik
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday said that Pakistan wanted respectable repatriation of Afghan refugees so that they could contribute in development of their country.
The Afghan government should also announce some facilities for the refugees, which would help their early return, he said while talking to UNHCR Representatives in Pakistan, Neill Wright, who called on him here.
The minister said that the Afghan refugees had been living in Pakistan for the last many years, and added that Pakistan National Database and Registration Authority, in collaboration with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, had accumulated their data.
Wright said that the UN commissioner for refugees would visit Pakistan in January next year and he thanked the government for proper look after of the Afghan refugees. app
