Memo replies shouldn’t be misconstrued as standoff: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the memo replies submitted to the Supreme Court by the government and the Army should not be misconstrued as a confrontation, Geo News reported.
Army Chief General Ashfaque Pervaiz Kayani Friday called on the Prime Minster Yousuf Raza Gilani and held meeting for sorting out the issues facing the nation and to cast off any impression of confrontation.
The meeting ended with a consensus that the replies submitted in the Supreme Court by the Army and the government should not be seen as a standoff between the government and the Army, a handout issued from the Prime Minister House said here.
PM and Army Chief meeting followed after the People’s Party Parliamentary Committee moot, where the prime minister had declared the memo scandal a conspiracy against democracy.
