PML-N MPA Shahid Mahmood Khan joins PTI

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Shahid Mahmood Khan from PP-194 (Multan) on Tuesday announced his resignation from the Punjab Assembly and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly building on Tuesday, Shahid Mehmood said that he had joined the PTI for the well-being of the country and the masses. He said that the rude and stubborn behaviour of the PML-N leadership towards its workers and office bearers had forced him to leave the party. He said that as he was elected an MPA from a PML-N platform, therefore he resigned from the Punjab Assembly after joining the PTI. The Punjab Assembly speaker approved his resignation and the assembly secretary confirmed it to the media. He wrote in the resignation letter that he was resigning from the assembly seat because he was not satisfied with the policies of the PML-N. Shahid Mahmood is the second MPA to have resigned from the assembly seat in the last couple of weeks with the objective of joining the PTI. Earlier, PPP MPA Khurram Malik resigned from PP-18 (Rawalpindi) and joined the PTI. staff report
