Punjab limits use of loudspeakers to Azan and Arabic sermons
LAHORE: A meeting of coordinators from various schools of thoughts was held here on Monday with Provincial minister for Auqaf Ata Manika in chair. A nine-point code of conduct was prepared in the meeting.
According to the code of conduct, usage of loudspeakers would be banned, however, they would only be allowed for the purpose of delivering Azan and sermons in Arabic language.
Under the code of conduct, any kind of hate speech towards any school of thought would be banned. No one would be allowed to declare followers of other school of thought as “Kafir” and “worthy of death”.
It would be ensured that the elders, worship places and sacred place would be respected, it added.
