Sindh ready to conduct LG polls in January: Mandhro
KARACHI: Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Sikander Ali Mandhro on Friday said that the provincial government was ready for local bodies’ election in January. Speaking to media during orientation session on rules of procedures of Sindh Assembly, Mandhro said the provincial government had made all arrangements for local bodies election and they had no problem on conducting the same on the date announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan. To a query that Provincial Information Minister Sharjeel Memon had rejected chances of election in January, he said that he had nothing to do with what the information minister had said. “We are ready to conduct the election on the date announced by the ECP.” He said that Pakistan People’s Party had called for local elections on party basis and it was for the first time that election would be held on party basis. ppi
