Farewell reception held for outgoing diplomats
ISLAMABAD: Diplomatic Corps Dean Rodolfo Martin Saravia hosted a farewell reception for Russian Ambassador Andrey Budnik and British High Commissioner Adam Thomson on Friday.The reception was hosted by the dean at his residence. The ambassadors and high commissioners of Spain, Italy, Tunisia, Japan, South Africa, Cuba, Hungry, Bosnia, Sweden, Egypt, Norway, Belgium, France, Ukraine, Mauritius, Oman, Switzerland and Poland attended the reception.
In his opening remarks, the dean appreciated the efforts and contributions of both the outgoing ambassadors in further strengthening bilateral relations for their respective countries with Pakistan and wished them all the best for future success.
In the farewell remarks by both the British high commissioner and the Russian ambassador, they said that they had enjoyed their stay in Pakistan, although Pakistan was going through a difficult time. They admired the hospitality of the people of Pakistan as they made many good friends here.
They said they were leaving Pakistan with a very heavy heart and hoped for the progress of Pakistan. pr
