Nandipur Power Project to generate electricity next year: Shahbaz
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that one terminal of Nandipur Power Project will start generating electricity by April-May next year as work was underway on the project day in and day out.
He said that national economy will grow if the power crisis was overcome. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Land Record Project Centre at the Walton Road on Sunday, the chief minister said that elimination of corruption was his top most priority and leadership would have to set an example to put in place a better system.
He said that computerized land record system was introduced to put an end to Patwari culture, which would help common people to get rid of corruption.
Sharif said that names of Patwari and Tehsildar had been replaced with Service Centre Officer and Assistant Director Land to change the mindset linked with Patwari system.
He said that the computerized land record would be completed by the end of 2014. The chief minister said he had received several summaries to recruit Patwaris over the last six years, which he didn’t approve.
