Phase I of oil terminal project completed
KARACHI: With the completion of phase-I of oil tankers parking terminal project in Zulfiqarabad, the demarcation work in phase-II is underway, to be completed in the six months. Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui was addressing a review meeting on the construction of Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal on Monday. He said the administrative approval of phase-II amounting to Rs 860 million had been issued, out of which Rs 214 million (35%) was received. The administrator said about 83 percent of development work in the first phase had been completed. He said the development of parking area was almost complete up to cutting and filling of earth on 100 acres; however, the remaining 20 acres was under development. Farooqui said water connection were provided via main KWSB pipeline from National Highway, which has been connected with the underground tank by lying of 2-inch, PE pipeline and was now operational. The project, after completion would have the capacity to accommodate 2,375 oil tankers at a time, with infrastructure for over ten thousand people, he added. staff report
