Pakistan working with international community to find solutions to terrorism: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that in order to tackle terrorism options other than drone strikes are being explored in collaboration with international community.

Addressing a lunch hosted for European Union ambassadors, Prime Minister Sharif said Pakistan was seeking solutions to terrorism which would not be counter-productive.

The prime minister added that Pakistan wanted relations with India and other neighbours which are based on equality and respect.

Prime Minister Sharif stressed that access to EU markets could change the economic condition of Pakistan.

Earlier while addressing the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, the prime minister had stressed that the government was working on war-footing to tackle terrorism and the energy crisis.

Pakistan’s National Assembly on Tuesday also unanimously passed a resolution urging the government to stop US drone strikes in Pakistan. The resolution stated that drone strikes were against the sovereignty of Pakistan and should be stopped at once.
