Pakistan, India need to promote people to people contact: Fazl
LAHORE: Jamait Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman on Wednesday said that Pakistan and India should promote people to people interaction, Geo News reported.
He said that Imran Khan’s proposal for setting up a joint civil nuclear plant at the Pak-India border was childish.
Talking to media prior to his departure for India, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said normalisation of relations between Pakistan and India would make South Asia a cradle for peace. The interests of people from both countries would have to be kept foremost in any peaceful settlement of the contentious issues between the two countries, JUI-F chief said.
Maulana Fazlur Rahman said the government was firm on its stance for talks with the Taliban, but it has remained in suspense because of Taliban. He also stressed on sectarian harmony in the country.
