Enjoy immunity, cannot be arrested: GilaniMULTAN: Former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Friday that he enjoys immunity as per the constitution and will see who can arrest him, Geo News reported.
Ex-PM Gilani, who has been summoned to appear to appear before the NAB probe team on Friday for his alleged involvement in the NICL scam, was addressing a press conference at his residence in Multan.
While talking to the media, Gilani said that he was not worried by the court notices and that handcuffs are PPP leaders’ jewels. He continued saying that it appeared as if he would be the first political prisoner of the current government.
The former PM, then, questioned that how could chairman NAB summon him as he is himself wanted. He further said that hundreds of NRO beneficiaries are roaming free.
Yousuf Raza Gilani also stated that he enjoys immunity as former PM according to the constitution and if the Parliament decides to abolish immunity, he will appear today only.
