Imran demands LB polls under judiciary’s supervision
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan has demanded that local bodies (LB) elections be held under the supervision of the judiciary.
Khan addressing a news conference was critical of the Punjab government, stating that it was scared of conducting free and fair elections. According to Khan, the PTI would introduce the biometric system for LB elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Terming the voter fraud during the general elections as robbery, Khan called for a detailed investigation in four constituencies with finger print verification. The PTI chairman said the government had admitted that there were 60-70 unverified votes in each constituency. Imran Khan announced that he would approach the Supreme Court on Monday for fingerprint verification in the four constituencies.
Commenting on the increasing cost of living in Pakistan, Imran Khan said the PTI would hold a protest rally against inflation on December 22.
