Govt asked to provide security to returning Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD: Families of eleven convicted Pakistani in Spain allegedly involved in terrorism charges have urged the government to provide them security during their deportation next month.
Spanish court had convicted 11 Pakistanis in 2008 for their alleged involvement in terrorist activities. They are being deported in January 2014 after completing their imprisonment.
Addressing the press conference on Tuesday, family members’ belonging to different parts of the city along with legal counsels of convicted informed the media that eleven Pakistanis who were convicted in Spain including Maroof Ahmed Mirza, Aqeel ur Rehman Abbasi, Abdul Hafeez, Imran Cheema, Khalid Mehmood, Muhammad Sohaib, Qadeer Malik, Mohammad Ayub Elahi, Muhammad Tariq, Shahid Iqbal, and Roshan Jamal Khan were being deported in the month of January and June 2014 and they sought government help to provide them security. They all were convicted on charges of being religious extremists and allegedly involved to attack on metro system of Barcelona.
