Accountant General of Pakistan removed for filing corruption references

ISLAMABAD: The government has suspended Accountant General of Pakistan Tahir Mehmood and a notification has also been issued in this regard.

Sources told Geo News on Thursday that the 21-grade officer had sent corruption references against alleged corruption in the finance ministry to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Sources in the finance ministry said that the Accountant General was not authorized to file such references in the NAB and he went beyond his powers while sending the corruption references.
