Kamran Faisal case: SC seeks report within two weeks

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed to constitute a fresh Joint Investigation Team (JIT) under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) to probe the cause of death to Kamran Faisal, a deceased investigation officer of National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

A three judge bench headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani also directed JIT to submit comprehensive report within two weeks regarding the mysterious death of NAB officer Kamran Faisal who was probing the Rental Power Plants case.

During the course of hearing, Aftab Bjwa, pleading kamran case, stated that family of the deceased was receiving threats from unknown persons as apex court in its earlier order directed the authorities to provide them security which was yet not provided.

He also requested the bench to direct police to record fresh statement of Kamran s father which was allowed. Later while seeking the report from JIT the apex court adjourned further hearing of the case for two weeks.
