MQM slams Wasan’s statement on ‘Jiyala mayor’
KARACHI: MQM’s Deputy Parliamentary Leader in the Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izhar-ul-Hasan has termed Manzoor Wasan’s statement regarding the ‘Jiyala Mayor of Karachi’ a ludicrous suggestion. He added that Wasan would become an object of ridicule because of his statement. In a statement he said, “Generally, Manzor Wasan lives in a dream world. We cannot impose restrictions on his dreaming habit because it costs nothing. There is no doubt people see true dreams too. He has dreamed something because of his malice towards MQM. His dream is contrary to the ground realities and reason. He should have thought about his honour and his party’s honour before sharing his dream with the media.” Wasan’s dream about a ‘Jiyala Mayor’ in Karachi reveals the bad intention of PPP to grab the mandate of MQM in Karachi. He added his golden dream was linked to the repeated illegal, unconstitutional and undemocratic amendments in the Local Government Ordinance by the Sindh government. “I would like to say in response to the views expressed by Manzoor Wasan regarding the ongoing operation in Karachi that MQM and its workers have endured state repression in June 19, 1992 operation. MQM and its workers faced and foiled a number of conspiracies. MQM workers have become hardened people. No one can frightened them by threats and compel them to give up their struggle for rights, said Khawaja said. staff report
