PM chairs meeting of Cabinet Defence CommitteeISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Defence Committee of Cabinet was held on Thursday to review decisions of the Cabinet Committee on National Security. The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, reviewed the regional security situation and observed that Pakistan is a responsible, democratic state and committed to safeguarding its national interests and fulfilling its international obligations. Pakistan rejects terrorism in all forms and manifestations and recognises that action against terrorism is integral to its core interests, the meeting decided. The committee was of the view that security and stability of South Asia is in the fundamental interests of the people of this region.
