Cold wave grips the country

ISLAMABAD: Cold weather will prevail across the country while rain and snowfall is also expected in parts of the country in the next 24 hours. According to Metrological Department, a cold wave would grip the areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Islamabad, Upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Rain and snow has intensified cold weather in GB, Ghizer, Lower Dir and Murree. Meanwhile, dense fog also blanketed different cities of Punjab and Sindh, including Muzaffargarh, Gujranwala and Sukkur, affecting the flow of traffic. Skardu is the coldest area of the country these days where temperature was minus 8 degree Celsius on Saturday night. In Kalam, temperature was recorded minus 7 degree Celsius, Gilgit minus 4, Qalat 2 and in Quetta minus 1.
