Institutions in country are progressing: Mamnoon

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain said on Wednesday the country’s institutions have not only been strengthened but they are progressing as well. “Our nation has rendered numerous sacrifices for the stability of democracy. Our economy has not only bore the pressure of wars but also faced natural disasters.” Mamnoon Hussain said international issues have directly or indirectly been affecting Pakistan’s geographical position from time to time. He said the country was also facing the menace of terrorism and extremism. He said the government has been working to combat all the challenges, including security and energy crisis. He said God has gifted countless blessings to the Pakistani nation and it faced all challenges bravely. The president urged the nation to collectively move forward following the guidelines of Founder of the Nation. Mamnoon Hussain said Quaid’s vision was to establish a democratic and welfare state where people could lead their lives with peace, love, equality and harmony. He said it is encouraging that Pakistan has achieved significant success in strengthening and stabilising democracy in the country. “Today we have a vibrant democratic set-up, which is delivering. It is our utmost duty to put the country on the path of development to bring it at par with other countries of the region.” The president said that Turkey has showed its interest in increasing bilateral trade because Pakistani products are “better than Europeans”. He said Pakistan and Turkey enjoy cordial relations which are getting stronger day by day. He said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has informed him that Pakistani products are economical and better than European products “so broader prospects of promotion of trade between both countries exist”. The president added, “Pakistan has also assured all kind of assistance to Turkish leadership because it will also bring improvement in our trade.”
