Awami Party Pakistan merges with NP
ISLAMABAD: Socialist leader Dr Hassan Nasir has decided to merge his party, Awami Party Pakistan with Balochistan’s ruling party the National Party.
Addressing a press conference along with National Party Balochistan President Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo in Islamabad on Saturday‚ former Awami Party Pakistan president Dr Hassan Nasir announced that his party was merging with the NP.
The primary motive of the Awami Party’s merger with NP is to build a country without exploitation that takes care of its poor and vulnerable citizens and ensures full participation of women and minorities into mainstream of national life, Dr Nasir said.
Expressing confidence in the leadership of Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch and Hasil Khan Bizenjo, Dr Nasir hoped that the NP would focus on the agenda of promoting land reforms in Balochistan, rebuilding state enterprises and promoting the welfare of the working people.
Talking to Daily Times, Dr Nasir said that his party would ensure “full participation of women, minorities and marginalised segment of the society in the national life”.
He said that the rule of common people was must to put an end to terrorism, poverty, inequality, unemployment, illiteracy, diseases and injustice.
Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo said that with the help of Awami Party Pakistan’s workers, the National Party would challenge 66 years of misrule by an elite comprising feudal sardars, Khans, capitalists and their cronies and clergy which has pushed the country to the brink of a political, economic and social disaster.
