LG polls: trial biometric voting held in Peshawar
PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in its efforts to hold fair and transparent polling during local government (LG) elections in the province held a trial voting under the biometric system in the city on Saturday.
The demo polling under biometric system was arranged on the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and held at village council Badhai, ward Wadpagga and Sir Buland Pura. The exercise was meant to check the success of the biometric system in the holding of error-free, transparent polling and thwarting bogus voting in the impending LG elections in KP.
The trial polling was arranged by the KP Local Government Department incollaboration with the provincial Election Commission.
