Nawaz Sharif for promulgation of anti-terror laws

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday directed that the work on formulation and promulgation of anti-terror laws be expedited.
Nawaz gave these directions in a meeting at the Prime Minister’s House, which reviewed the anti-terror laws in the country. The meeting was attended by Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Chief of General Staff Lt General Ashfaq Nadeem, DG ISI, DG MI and secretaries of interior and law ministries. The prime minister said, “There is no space for enemy aliens to attack innocent civilians and armed forces and they must be prosecuted with effectiveness.” He added that “we will adopt and coordinate strategy to root out the menace of terrorism”. The premier said that the civil administration and military were on the same page on the issue of tackling terrorists in Karachi, FATA and PATA (Provincially Administered Tribal Areas).
