Political parties divided on military courts
ISLAMABAD: The political parties stood divided on the issue of military courts during the meeting of parliamentary parties presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Sources said that the Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan People’s Party, the Awami National Party and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement expressed reservations over the proposal of military courts.
The sources said that working group on the action plan against terrorism agreed on all the proposals in principle.
The sources said that consultation was ongoing to remove legal and constitutional flaws on various proposals including establishment of military courts.
