Pakistan, Afghanistan determined to eliminate terrorism: PM

ISLAMABAD: An 18-member Afghan parliamentary delegation called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Wednesday.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stressed the importance of Pak-Afghan relations emphasising that both countries were determined to enhance political ties and eliminate terrorism.

Prime Minister Sharif said a peaceful and stable Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan. ‘Both nations want to achieve peace and stability in the region,’ the prime minister was quoted as saying.

The prime minister spoke of the desire of both nations to enhance trade relations, stating that exchange of delegations were useful in bringing people closer.

Prime Minister Sharif also informed the Afghan delegation of operation Zarb-e-Azb, telling them that it had been successful in destroying the network of terrorists.
