NewsKarachi operation will be expanded across Sindh: Chandio
KARACHI: Expressing grief on the martyrdom of Military Police personnel, Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on information, Maula Bakhsh Chandio on Wednesday announced that Karachi operation will be expanded across the Sindh province.
At a press conference here at the CM House, Chandio briefed media persons about the outcome of today’s meeting of the Apex Committee.
He said the committee has made decisions to take necessary measures towards intensifying the ongoing operation against terrorism.
Expressing shock on yesterday’s attack on Military Police, the provincial information advisor said Sindh will be purged of terrorism through implementation of fresh decisions.
He said the terrorists have taken shelter in the interior parts of Sindh due to the crackdown on criminals in Karachi. The operation in Karachi will now be expanded across the province.
Maula Bakhsh Chandio further said that there was a plan to induct 200 new police investigation officers while 8,000 new recruits will also be added to the Sindh Police force.
He said help will be sought from an American company for putting the CCTV cameras back in order.
The minister said a decision has been taken to undertake steps on immediate basis to bring about reforms in prisons while the system of prosecution will also be improved further.
