ISLAMABAD: Interior Ministry has sent a letter to Canadian High Commission over reported violation of procedure in sending deportees back to Pakistan.
Interior Ministry spokesman said on Wednesday the ministry has observed that the deportation of any citizen on documents issued by any other country is violation of international laws and human rights.
The spokesman said that government of Pakistan will neither accept any deportee sent from Canada on Canadian emergency travel documents, nor will it allow immigration to any government functionary escorting such a deportee.
He clarified that the process of deportation would take place after citizenship of a deportee is confirmed from the Interior Ministry and he/she be issued a valid travel document by Pakistani Mission Abroad.
