FIR of PIA plane crash ordered after nine years

MULTAN: A local court Wednesday ordered case registration of a PIA plane crash that killed 45 people in Multan nine years ago. Justice Nazeer Ahmed Siddiqui, doctors and professors and several crewmembers were also among the ill-fated passengers who died when their Lahore-bound Fokker crashed soon after take-off from the Multan airport on July 10, 2006. According to media reports, District and Sessions Judge Multan issued its ruling today, ordering investigation into the incident and inclusion of names of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials in the FIR.
