Pakistan recognised by int’l engineering association
ISLAMABAD: Through its representation by Pakistan Engineering Council, Pakistan has been recognised as the first economy under Federation of Engineering Institutions of Asia and the Pacific (FEIAP) Accreditation System in its meeting held in Penang, Malaysia.
The FEIAP Accreditation System is endorsed and supported by UNESCO for substantial equivalence of engineering qualifications among the member countries. Dr Shahbaz Khan, Director UNESCO Asia, Africa and Pacific Region who was also present at the occasion congratulated PEC and attributed this achievement to the continued efforts by PEC leadership for global recognition of Pakistan’s engineering educational standards.
The recognition of Pakistan’s engineering qualifications by FEIAP Accreditation System will enable Pakistan to be considered by Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC Engineer) towards registration of Pakistani engineering graduates, which will enhance mobility of engineers for the purpose of employment in other FEIAP economies.
