Pakistan-Japan ties centered on economic cooperation

KARACHI – Japanese Consul-General in Karachi Akira Ouchi has said that the friendly relations between the Pakistan and Japan are mainly centered on economic cooperation.

Ouchi expressed these views at birthday ceremony of His Majesty the Emperor Akihito - who will be 82 years on December 23, 2015 - said a statement here on Wednesday.

Sindh Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Nisar Ahmed Khuhro was the chief guest at the occasion which was attended by parliamentarians, government officials, diplomats, businessmen and other prominent figures from Sindh and Balochistan.

Speaking at the occasion, Japanese consul-general told about various economic and cultural activities that took place throughout the year and explained the official development assistance (ODA) to Pakistan in various sectors of the economy from the Japanese government. He emphasised commitment in further promoting economic cooperation, and activating cultural and people-to-people exchange between Japan and Pakistan.

Sindh Minister Nisar Khuhro congratulated the Emperor Akihito on his majesty’s birthday and expressed sincere wishes for his good health and prosperity. He acknowledged Japan’s cooperation to Pakistan in various sectors, especially in the field of education.
