Major Shabbir Sharif remembered on 44th death anniversary

LAHORE - Major Shabbir Sharif - who received top military award Nishan-e-Haider for his bravery in the 1971 war against India - was remembered on his 44th martyrdom anniversary here on Sunday.
The ceremony was held at his final resting place, where General Officer Commanding Major General Kaleem Asif laid a floral wreath on behalf of Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif. The ceremony was attended by Shabbir Sharif’s son Taimoor and other family members.
A course-mate of General (retired) Pervez Musharraf, Major Shabbir Sharif was martyred during the 1971 war with India and was awarded the Nishan-e-Haider for his valour.
