MQM given Karachi mandate under planned strategy: Afaq Ahmed

KARACHI: Mohajir Qaumi Movement (MQM-H) Chairman, Afaq Ahmed has claimed that armed men filled ballot boxes after taking charge of a number of polling stations across Karachi during Saturday’s Local Government elections.

“We reject the results but accept the decision of the ‘angels’,” Afaq Ahmed said while addressing a news conference here on Sunday.

He regretted that the police and Rangers were not seen fulfilling the people’s expectations during the LG polls.

Afaq Ahmed further said that his party’s workers were facing attacks on their residences following the polls but despite that ‘I advice them to observe patience’.

He alleged that Karachi’s mandate was handed over to Altaf Hussain’s Muttahida Qaumi Movement under a pre-planned strategy.
