Earlier on Sunday, Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan commending the performance and achievements of the Rangers in Karachi said that peace and order in the city had become possible due to the bravery and sacrifices of the Rangers and the people in uniform.
To a query he said that the operation against the terrorists and criminals would continue in Karachi and its scope could be enhanced in the wake of recent developments. He said that the investigations into the recent killing of Rangers personnel in Karachi were still under way but he refrained from pointing a finger towards anyone. “We should wait for the outcome of the investigations,” he said.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the Rangers would get special powers to continue operations in Karachi under the Anti-Terrorist Act (ATA).
